Job description
Overview

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Technical Manager to lead the delivery of renewable electrical installations across our projects. This role is pivotal for ensuring systems are designed, installed, and commissioned to high standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You will oversee the full lifecycle of renewable electrical installations, from design through to certification and handover, working with internal teams and contractors to ensure seamless project execution and regulatory compliance. You will act as the technical lead, providing guidance and support throughout the design, installation, and certification process. The role also involves on-site audits, documentation management, and liaison with external partners and suppliers.

Note: All successful candidates must pass a criminal record check, provide 5 years of work references, and prove eligibility to work in the UK. Location: Market Harborough, LE16 9HSalary: £51,000.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the end-to-end delivery of renewable electrical installations.
  • Ensure all projects meet quality, safety, and certification standards.
  • Support system design and installation, including completion of installation certification.
  • Submit documentation to Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections to uphold internal standards.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure technical alignment.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external partners and suppliers.
  • Provide escalation support for complex technical queries and complaints.
  • Support onboarding of new products and technologies, offering technical guidance to installation teams.
About You – Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation / Electrotechnical Technology (AM2).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • 2391 Inspection & Testing.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • Proven experience managing electrical installations in the renewable energy sector.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations and safety standards.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
  • Technical expertise in solar PV systems and renewable energy technologies.
  • Experience with MCS accreditation and CDM regulations.
  • Familiarity with G99/G100 applications and grid connection requirements.
  • Ability to inspect, test, and certify electrical installations in line with UK standards.
