Job description
Role

We are seeking an experienced electrical project manager to join our team on the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station, Bridgwater, Somerset. This key management role will oversee the delivery of electrical packages, manage the handover and close‑out, and ensure the final safety file is ready for handover. You will be part of Crown House Technologies, a division of Laing O’Rourke, responsible for the M&E fit‑out of the Operations Service Centre – a nine‑storey building that will house support functions for the power station and accommodate around 350 staff once operational.

Responsibilities

• Drive a regulated large‑scale project and deliver the electrical package to schedule and quality objectives.
• Manage the hand‑over and close‑out process, including preparation of safety files.
• Select and manage innovative methods, materials and safe systems of work.
• Apply engineering principles and calculations to solve practical problems.
• Establish and oversee local implementation of engineering systems, documentation and controls to comply with H&S legislation and company standards.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • First degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or an industry recognised technical or engineering qualification (NVQ level 4) plus demonstrable experience in design and construction delivery.
  • Experience driving a large regulated project.
  • Prior project delivery experience on large, highly regulated MEP projects (value between £15M and £100M+).
  • Knowledge of a nuclear or regulated environment is an advantage.
  • Strong ability to manage innovative methods, materials and safe work systems.
