Job summary

A recruitment firm is seeking an Electrical bias Maintenance Engineer to cover multiple sites in Rochdale/Oldham. Responsibilities include addressing engineering issues, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards. The ideal candidate will have 18th Edition qualifications, PLC programming skills, and the ability to work flexibly including being on call.   • Proficient in PLC programming and fault finding, mainly Siemens.

Job description

I am looking for an Electrical bias Maintenance Engineer to cover 5 sites in the Rochdale/Oldham area. There is a lot of installation work to be completed as part of the role and the successful candidate will be required to be on call for one week out of seven.

Main Duties
  • To meet production needs in regards to engineering issues and breakdowns. To carry out routine test and inspection on electrical systems and portable electrical equipment.
  • To reduce costs where possible and use the preventative maintenance system to reduce unplanned maintenance. To assist the maintenance manager with projects and developments.
  • To maintain maintenance activities in compliance with ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001 and other customer specific standards.
Requirements
  • Apprentice trained. City and guilds or HNC.
  • 18th Edition qualified
  • PLC programming / fault finding skills (mainly siemens).
  • Own transport and hand tools required.
  • PLC literate. Filling out reports and completing PPM schedules.

Hours of work 7.30am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 3pm on Fridays. Flexibility is required for overtime and on call.
