Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £46,000 + Benefits

Shift: Days (with on-call rota, 1 week in 5)

About the role: We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join a well-established food manufacturing business in Edinburgh. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a modern, fast-paced environment where safety, quality, and efficiency are paramount.

As part of the maintenance team, you will play a key role in ensuring plant reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role includes participation in an on-call rota (1 week in every 5) to provide out-of-hours support for maintenance and site issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of plant equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production disruption.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and implement modifications to optimise performance.
  • Maintain accurate records using the site’s PPM system.
  • Participate in the on-call rota as required.
About You
  • Recognised engineering qualification (HNC or equivalent) with strong electrical skills.
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience in areas outside formal qualifications.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and familiar with PPM systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
