Job summary

A leading services company in the UK is seeking an Electrical Craftsperson to maintain and repair electrical services and equipment within a hospital. The ideal candidate will have completed a recognized apprenticeship and possess strong knowledge of Electrical Building Services. This role offers a competitive salary of £32,520.96 to £35,747.60 annually, along with comprehensive benefits including a contributory pension scheme, training opportunities, and 27 days' annual leave.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience of working in a similar environment.

Job description
Overview

Your role will be to provide safe and efficient maintenance of the Electrical services and equipment within the hospital as directed. You are expected to ensure that the Hospital Building, Fabric, Plant, Services and Equipment are maintained to a high standard to ensure continued efficiency, safety and reliability, and to safeguard the future long‑term serviceability of the Estate as contractually required by Serco, Octagon and the Norfolk & Norwich NHS Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety at all times.
  • Assess all aspects of tasks at all times and take appropriate actions.
  • Know when to request advice or assistance.
  • Understand own limitations.
  • Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning and maintenance to a wide range of Services, Plant and Equipment within all areas of the Hospital as directed by Supervisors or Managers.
  • Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance to a wide range of Plant and Equipment.
  • Work in accordance with all relevant Serco Policies & Procedures, Workplace Regulations and Best Practice Guidelines.
  • Always work in a safe and responsible manner with full regard for own and others' safety.
  • Attend work in compliance with the Computerised Time & Attendance System.
  • Actively participate in the Computerised Labour Control System, including accurate and punctual completion of Work Order Documentation.
  • Use personal communication equipment as requested.
  • Be prepared to attend work or work beyond expected finishing time in exceptional circumstances, as requested by Supervisors or Managers.
  • Communicate to Supervisors or Managers unrepaired faults or defects or requirements for spare parts.
  • Attend on-site and off-site training as required.
  • Be aware of how the Electrical Craftsperson role influences Serco's Norfolk & Norwich Contract and the wider company objectives.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a recognised appropriate Electrical Apprenticeship or other relevant structured Training Program.
  • Appropriate City & Guilds and/or BTEC certification.
  • Proven experience of working in a similar environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Electrical Building Services.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
