Job summary

A leading Defence and Aerospace company in the UK is seeking an Electrical AIT Engineer for a 6-month contract based in Stevenage. The role involves maintenance and fault finding of electronic test racks, computer systems administration, and programming. Candidates should have strong qualifications in RF and electronics, with the ability to troubleshoot down to component level. This position offers £45ph inside IR35 and the chance to grow within a market-leading company.

Qualifications

• Experience in an ATE environment.
• Ability to work down to component level.
• Strong fault finding and troubleshooting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and fault finding of electronic/RF test racks.
• Computer system and networks administration.
• Programming in various scripting languages.
• Managing environmental and launch test campaigns.
• Preparing test specifications for test racks.
• Reviewing data packs from suppliers.
• Supporting reviews of test equipment design and non-conformances.

Skills

Theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic and RF test racks

Fault finding skills down to board and component level

Network and computer administration in Windows and Linux

Knowledge of interfaces such as Mil‑1553, SpaceWire, CAN bus, RS232/422

ATE environments such as PCI, VXI, PXI

Competent in general-purpose lab test equipment

Knowledge of test systems

Design, manufacture, and commissioning of test systems

Experience of electrical integration of equipment

Working knowledge of TMTC Databases

Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems
