The Opportunity

We sit at the heart of the Trust’s knowledge sharing. As an apprentice, you will be the "face" of our eLearning services, acting as the bridge between healthcare professionals and the digital tools they need to save lives.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience in a professional, supportive environment, helping staff across the Trust (including MOD and Equans partners) access vital training. Under the guidance of the eLearning Technologist, you will develop specialised skills in both eLearning technology and library science.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Master New Systems: Learn the ins and outs of online learning databases and provide basic training and troubleshooting for Trust staff.
  • Support Trust Induction: Play a key role in welcoming new starters by helping with the setup, execution, and troubleshooting of induction sessions.
  • Level Up Your IT Skills: Become an expert in Microsoft Office and gain a foundational understanding of course design and platform maintenance.
  • Collaborate & Create: Work alongside the eLearning Technologist to design training guides, update webpages, and suggest fresh ideas to improve our working procedures.
  • Library Support: Gain experience in a library setting by assisting customers at the front desk (issue desk) with a wide variety of enquiries.

Who You Are

  • A People Person: You enjoy helping others and can communicate clearly and kindly via phone, email, and in person.
  • Tech‑Curious: You have a natural interest in IT and are eager to learn how digital learning platforms function.
  • Organised: You can manage a busy inbox, maintain calendars, and keep track of training data effectively.
  • A Team Player: You’re ready to pitch in, share ideas, and grow professionally through feedback and hands‑on experience.

Why Join Us?

  • Career Development: Gain a recognised qualification.
  • Expert Mentorship: You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll receive dedicated support and guidance from senior staff every step of the way.
  • Real Impact: Your work directly supports the development of the healthcare professionals who keep our community healthy.
  • Career Progression: Develop a broad toolkit of skills that are highly valued across the NHS.
  • Education: A good general education, including 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above, specifically including English Language.
