Location: Swansea, MA
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:30am-3:30pm. Wednesday: 8:00am-4:00pm
Salary: $72,000–$77,000, based on qualifications and experience

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, flexible, and mission-driven Special Education professional to join our team as Educational Coordinator. This full-time, year-round role is responsible for ensuring compliance with IEP processes, coordinating key academic assessments, supporting instructional staff, and assisting with behavioral response during the school day.

Working closely with the Education Director, the Educational Coordinator plays a pivotal role in aligning educational services with each student’s needs and treatment goals. This role offers the opportunity to support academic growth, promote positive school culture, and help youth build the skills they need to succeed—all within a trauma-informed, team-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead IEP Coordination: Oversee IEP development, meetings, and progress reporting while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Support Classrooms & Staff: Supervise Teacher Assistants, provide instructional coverage, and assist with academic planning and assessments.
  • Promote Positive School Culture: Support behavior management and crisis response; model trauma-informed practices.
  • Ensure Operational Excellence: Coordinate assessments (e.g., MCAS, WIDA), maintain documentation, and contribute to school events and daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or related field
  • Current Massachusetts Special Education Teacher License
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience in a Special Education setting
  • Strong knowledge of the IEP process and academic documentation
  • Ability to connect with and support adolescents with emotional and behavioral needs
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • CPR, MAP, and Safety-Care certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
