Overview

A welcoming primary school in Greater Manchester is looking for a confident Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. The role will involve supporting children across Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2, delivering both 1:1 and small group phonics interventions using the Read Write Inc programme.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group phonics sessions using Read Write Inc strategies
  • Supporting the class teacher with planning and delivering targeted interventions
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress against phonics and literacy targets
  • Building positive relationships to encourage engagement and confidence in reading
  • Assisting with classroom-based support when required
Qualifications
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) - essential
  • Previous experience delivering Read Write Inc phonics (1:1 and group)
  • Confidence in supporting pupils with varying abilities in reading and writing
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow structured programmes
  • A proactive, supportive and patient approach
