The London Borough of Islington is seeking an Education Employment and Training (EET) Adviser (SO2) to work within the Virtual School and Leaving Care Service on a temporary agency basis. The role focuses on supporting care‑experienced young people aged 17‑25 to access and sustain education, employment and training opportunities. The postholder will work directly with young people who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET, supporting improved outcomes through personalised interventions, partnership working and delivery of targeted programmes including the Care Leaver Youth Trailblazers Programme.
Requires English and Maths GCSE at grade C / 4 or above.
Working hours: 35 hours per week (9:00am 5:30pm).
Location: 3 Elwood Street, Islington.
Enhanced DBS clearance required.

Experience working within education, employment, training or children’s services. Strong knowledge of safeguarding and working with children, young people and care leavers. Understanding of legislation, guidance and best practice relating to looked‑after children and care leavers. Awareness of barriers to learning and employment including trauma and attachment issues. Ability to work creatively and proactively to improve outcomes for vulnerable young people. Strong partnership working skills across multi‑disciplinary teams. Experience managing projects or programmes to improve EET outcomes. Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills. Confident using IT systems to record, monitor and report outcomes.
