Editorial Content Lead

Location: Cheltenham, UK

Role Overview

We’re looking for an experienced, multi‑channel copywriter and editorial content developer to craft compelling, audience‑focused content that brings our strategic narrative to life across all internal and external platforms.

This role will be part of the Content Team within the Group Communications function and will work alongside design and content development roles. Your creativity and collaboration skills will be key to producing cohesive, engaging and visually aligned communications and content that engages, inspires and informs a broad range of stakeholder audiences from colleagues to shareholders.

As an experienced writer, you’ll bring your creative flair and ability to quickly connect to audience needs, to ensure that every piece of Spirax Group content, from articles and posts to videos and scripts, reflects the Group’s brand voice, positioning and strategic themes.

Objectives and Responsibilities
  • Research, write, develop and edit content across multiple platforms, including for the company intranet, website and social media as well as company updates, thought leadership and editorial projects
  • Scripts and narrative frameworks for corporate and commercial video projects, working closely with the videographer and designer to ensure consistency in tone, story and brand
  • Collaborate with the channels team to plan and align content with the distribution strategies to ensure a smooth handover and enable maximum reach and engagement
  • Translate strategic messaging into clear, compelling stories tailored to internal and external audiences
  • Edit, proofread and refine content to maintain brand voice and quality across all platforms
  • Support campaign development, content planning and messaging frameworks for integrated communications
To be successful in this role you will

  • Proven experience as a copywriter, content strategist or editorial content developer in a corporate or agency environment
  • Demonstrable ability to write across platforms and formats, including web, social and internal communications
  • Conceptual storytelling skills including the ability to recognise and maintain cohesive messaging while adapting for style, audience and platform
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills with attention to detail and ability to demonstrate consistency
  • Strong understanding of brand tone of voice, storytelling and narrative development
  • Skilled in collaborating within creative teams, including designers, videographers and channel/distribution specialists
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Good networker, able to build strong relationships and unlock insights
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Acts with integrity at all times, seeks and acts on feedback
