What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll be a vital part of delivering BWB’s mission by:

• Conducting Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and protected species surveys across the UK.
• Completing biodiversity net gain metrics to drive sustainable outcomes.
• Producing detailed technical reports and competitive fee proposals.
• Collaborating with stakeholders and statutory consultees on exciting, complex projects.
• Supporting a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates ecology with wider environmental and engineering solutions.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for an experienced ecologist who:

• Has at least 3 years’ experience in ecological consultancy.
• Understands the full biodiversity net gain process and ecological appraisals.
• Holds a degree or master’s in Ecology or a related discipline.
• Has excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Is a CIEEM member and holds a valid driving licence.
• Ideally holds a protected species licence (or a reference for one).
