A leading waste management company in Maidstone seeks an EC&I Maintenance Craftsman to execute maintenance strategies and improve plant efficiency. You will work on corrective and preventative maintenance while liaising with team leaders to ensure safe operations. Qualifications

EC&I Maintenance Craftsman

Salary – Competitive salary

Hours – 37.5 hours per week, 07:30am - 15:30pm

Location & Postcode – Allington, ME16 0LE

As an EC&I Maintenance Craftsman at FCC Environment, you will provide corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance across all areas of the process. You will work closely with the Electrical/Mechanical Team Leaders to deliver a safe, effective, and efficient service to the Operations department, and play a key role in developing maintenance strategies to increase plant availability. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working XX days per week.

What will you be doing?
  • Implementing and executing all corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance
  • Liaising directly with Team Leaders to ensure maintenance delivers a safe and efficient service
  • Assisting in the strategic development of maintenance philosophy and introducing best practice
  • Supervising and liaising with sub-contractors
  • Developing and using the site CMMS
  • Planning and supporting all planned outages
  • Deputising for the Electrical Team Leader when required
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out safely and in line with statutory requirements
  • Carrying out risk assessments and supporting continual improvement in health and safety
  • Supporting plant development and equipment upgrades
  • Managing and contributing to team efforts, encouraging involvement and decision-making
What are we looking for?
  • Ideally 5 to 10 years’ experience in Power, Paper, Cement, or Energy from Waste industries
  • Significant experience diagnosing and rectifying faults on control, instrumentation, and electrical equipment
  • Familiarity with high voltage equipment, including maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Proficient with plant control systems (ideally Yokogawa)
  • Experience with steam turbines and generators preferred
  • Previous CMMS experience
  • Recognised Apprenticeship from a similar industry, or HNC in an electrically biased subject
  • IOSH or NEBOSH safety accreditation
  • Ability to manage sub-contractors in a planned outage environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Willingness and ability to operate flexibly across a wide range of work areas
