Job summary

A chemical manufacturing company in Norwich is seeking a permanent EC&I Engineer to improve operations and resolve complex problems in chemical process plants. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PLC and DCS systems, relevant qualifications, and experience managing contractors. The role offers a salary of up to £60k, flexible hours, and various benefits including a performance bonus and healthcare.

Qualifications

  • Experience working under the Electricity at Work Regulations in an industrial environment.
  • Understanding of applicable legislation including HaSaWA, COMAH, DSEAR, CompEx.
  • Membership or recognition by relevant body such as TUV, IET or ICE.

Responsibilities

  • Assist operational staff with complex problems and EC&I improvements.
  • Plan, prioritise and carry out inspection, design, maintenance and testing.
  • Implement a continuous improvement programme for production.

Skills

Knowledge and application of PLC and DCS systems, Rockwell and/or Siemens S7
Ability to work within tightly focused teams
Experience of effectively managing sub-contractors
Ability to implement Process Improvement Techniques
Proficient in leading teams as well as working individually

Education

HNC, HND or Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering
