Our client, a well-established setting in Bellshill, is recruiting for a qualified Early Years Practitioner.

  • Responsible to: Nursery Principal and Head of Centre
  • Purpose of post: To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children in a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate an appropriate learning environment for nursery children.
  • Work as part of a team within the playroom and nursery, implementing daily routines.
  • Demonstrate resilience and implement early intervention plans for children with challenging behaviors.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through meetings and appointments.
  • Stay updated with childcare developments through resources, training, and CPL courses.
  • Maintain neat and organized paperwork within the nursery.
  • Maintain authority and a positive manner when working with children and families.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children at all times.
Additional Duties:
  1. Update children's learning journals weekly, including planning and observations.
  2. Keep accurate achievement records, identifying individual needs and progress.
  3. Plan activities supporting children's learning aligned with curricula and expectations.
  4. Stay informed about child development and early years practices.
  5. Build partnerships with families and support children with additional needs.
  6. Plan for and support transitions for children, parents, and carers.
  7. Maintain confidentiality and share relevant information appropriately.
  8. Lead initiatives in areas like numeracy, literacy, or health and wellbeing.
  9. Participate in out-of-hours activities and training.
  10. Be flexible and assist with nursery chores as needed.
  11. Work with management to ensure nursery standards and policies are upheld.
  12. Engage in personal and professional development.
  13. Ensure a high-quality environment respecting cultural and developmental differences.
  14. Uphold the nursery's high standards and represent it professionally.
  15. Perform other reasonable duties as required.
