Job description

Role: Early Years Practitioner

Location: Chelmsford

Pay Rate: £90 – £130 per day

Start Date: As soon as possible

GSL Education is recruiting experienced Early Years Practitioner to join a welcoming SEN school in Chelmsford, working within Reception or KS1. This role is ideal for an Early Years Practitioner who enjoys nurturing early development, building positive routines, and supporting pupils with additional needs.

Nursery experience or a Level 2/3 nursery qualification is highly desirable, making this an excellent opportunity for an Early Years Practitioner with a strong early-childhood background.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils in Reception or KS1 within a specialist SEN school
  • Assist with early communication, sensory activities, and structured routines
  • Deliver small-group and one-to-one learning sessions
  • Help maintain an engaging and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Essential Requirements
  • Experienced Early Years Practitioner or someone with nursery/early childhood experience
  • Understanding of early development and SEN needs
  • Patient, nurturing, and confident in supporting young children
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education)
