Overview

Are you a skilled and safety-conscious DT Technician with a passion for supporting creative learning environments? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Scunthorpe, working within a dynamic Design & Technology department.

About the Role

This is a part-time, temporary position (Wednesday to Friday) for an initial period of 6 weeks. You will play a key role in supporting teaching staff and students in practical lessons, ensuring a safe, well-organised, and inspiring workshop environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage tools, equipment, and materials for practical DT lessons.
  • Support students during practical sessions, ensuring safe and effective use of machinery.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety in line with school policies and statutory requirements.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering materials, and general workshop upkeep.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience working with DT machinery in an educational or workshop setting.
  • A valid training certificate in the use of DT machinery (from the DT Association or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols in a workshop environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
