CAD Engineer / Draughtsperson

Location

Birmingham

Hours

44 hours per week - Monday to Thursday : 7 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM, Friday : 7 : 30 AM - 4 : 00 PM

Salary

Up to£40,000 doe

We are seeking a skilled Draughtsperson to join our client, a specialist in bespoke hardwood joinery. This role involves collaborating with internal and external teams to interpret technical drawings and 3D visuals provided by architects. Your primary responsibility will be to produce precise 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD / Inventor, ensuring accuracy before coordinating with the shop floor for manufacturing preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret architectural technical drawings and 3D visuals related to hardwood joinery.
  • Produce detailed 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD / Inventor.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and project teams to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare manufacturing documentation and issue information to the workshop.
  • Maintain high standards of precision and adherence to project specifications.
  • Support projects throughout their lifecycle, from design to final production.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role within joinery or wood-based manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD / Inventor (or similar CAD software).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a hardwood joinery environment is preferred.
