Domiciliary Dispensing Optician – Road Manager

Location: Warrington

About the Role

Take your optical expertise on the road—and into leadership. This exciting hybrid role gives you the best of both worlds: 2-3 days a week in the office providing team leadership and operational management, and 2 days on the road delivering exceptional domiciliary eye care and supporting staff in the field. As a Domiciliary Dispensing Optician – Road Manager, you’ll combine hands‑on clinical care with the opportunity to coach, develop, and lead a passionate team. You’ll play a key role in supporting patients who cannot visit traditional practices while also driving performance and professional standards across your team.

Office-Based Responsibilities (2-3 days per week)
  • Lead and support a team of 6 Optical Assistants and 3 Optometrists
  • Carry out 1:1s, performance reviews, and KPI monitoring
  • Assist with workforce planning, rota coordination, and general operational management
  • Ensure compliance with clinical and organisational standards
  • Review patient feedback and support continuous improvement
  • Help embed new processes, systems, and best practices across the team
On-the-Road Responsibilities (2 days per week)
  • Deliver personalised dispensing services in patients’ homes
  • Observe and support staff in the field, offering guidance and development
  • Help cover appointments when needed to ensure smooth patient care
  • Use your professional expertise to recommend appropriate eyewear and solutions
  • Provide crucial support to vulnerable individuals, helping them maintain independence and wellbeing
  • This balance of fieldwork and office leadership provides variety, impact, and the opportunity to shape both patient experience and team success.
The TeamYou’ll be joining a supportive group of dedicated optical professionals who share a passion for delivering high-quality care. The team includes:
  • 6 skilled Optical Assistants
  • 3 experienced Optometrists

You’ll play a central role in guiding and empowering them to deliver the best possible service to patients.
