Team/Role Overview

The Domestic Payments and Receivables team is leading transformation to standardise the approach to managing the Domestic Payments network. This role will focus on managing and enhancing our Domestic Payments payables proposition, driving existing digital product solutions as well as leading the design of target‑state solutions and representing Domestic Payments on the modernisation journey.

What you’ll do

The Domestic Payments Product Lead will manage our existing traditional domestic payment solutions as well as build value‑add solutions in a modernised target state. You will lead the commercial launch of new markets and capabilities by partnering with country and regional Product Managers, Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Implementations, Operations & Service, Technology, and others – to deliver solutions to clients that optimise the consumer experience, minimise risk, and drive revenue. You will deliver on strategic initiatives, identify value‑creation opportunities and design strategies to grow adoption of Domestic Payment solutions across the globe. Manage our existing global domestic payments network and solutions.

  • Understand the Payments landscape and industry trends.
  • Work with clients, sales, and partners to identify opportunities to enhance our domestic payments solutions, ensuring a best‑in‑class client experience. This includes leading cross‑functional client validation workshops as Citi modernises its Payments ecosystem.
  • Lead business input on modernisation, roadmap discussions, ensuring the global standard is comprehensive and execution is delivered to the global core.
  • Work closely with global and cluster product teams, Technology, Operations and Coverage teams to drive timely, cost‑effective and high‑quality delivery of strategically aligned innovative product solutions.
  • Partner with Finance to evaluate investments in product development and monitor and control billing/revenue, expenditure and benefits realisation.
  • Partner with Finance to:
    • Monitor and control billing/revenue, expenditure, and benefits realisation.
    • Lead Core Payments P&L monitoring, assessing trends and delivering insights into the portfolio (Revenue, Volume, Pipeline, Deal trends, Client Experience Metrics, Voice of Client).
  • Create frameworks and strategies that enable globally consistent solutions.
  • Work closely with our commercialisation and sales partners to create comprehensive solution packages.
  • Work with Product Control functions to ensure that all relevant documentation (e.g. Product Approval Program) and processes are strictly adhered to and part of the management fabric of the product business.
  • Invest time to keep track of competition, market trends, new technologies.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
What we’ll need from you
  • Significant relevant experience in payments with product management and client‑facing experience and a good understanding of the payments landscape and commercialisation strategies.
  • Understanding of payments processing, payments risk and compliance risk management.
  • User experience from both a corporate and consumer standpoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to self‑direct work efforts, meet deadlines, take initiative, and produce consistent high‑quality work; willingness to be a direct contributor and ability to multi‑task.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experienced presenter with strong inter‑personal skills, able to advocate a position and win people and teams over.
  • Client‑centric mindset.
  • High energy, passionate and dynamic self‑starter.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Result‑oriented approach with an appreciation for targets and deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s / University degree; master’s degree preferred.
