As a Domestic Assistant you would be responsible for maintaining an acceptable standard of cleanliness in allocated areas using the correct cleaning methods, frequencies, materials and equipment, cleaning to the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021. Cleaning is carried out in wards and departments throughout the organisation.
Based at Clarendon/Palmer locations with Monday to Friday hours ranging between 6am and 7.30pm, 3.5 hours per day across both sites. NB shift times may vary week to week. Enhancements are paid for weekend working and night shift.

To carry out all cleaning assigned, using the guidance and training provided and the checklists.
Provide a beverage service to patients and visitors as required.
Ensure all necessary equipment/machinery is fit for purpose before use and that it is cleaned and stored after use.
Use all materials and consumables in accordance with laid down practices.
Collection, segregation & disposal of waste materials, replacement of liners, in accordance with policies.
Packing, sorting, delivering & collection of linen.
Undertake manual and mechanical cleaning activities in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
Ensure that all cleaning schedules are completed and checked on a daily basis.
Refilling of all dispensers including soap, hand towels, toilet rolls and all paper rolls.
Cleaning in close proximity to patients including beds, windows, curtain rails, window ledges, tables and lockers.
Use the appropriate work equipment and PPE provided, reporting any maintenance, safety deficiencies and incidents to a member of the supervisory team.
Maintaining cleanliness of entrances, work areas and grounds as necessary.

To provide excellent standards of cleanliness whilst working to schedules relevant to allocated areas.
To be flexible on a day-to-day basis, moving across areas and departments within Domestic Services.
To operate machinery within Domestic Services (e.g., floor cleaning equipment) following health and safety guidance and training.
Conduct environmental cleaning, wall washing and deep cleaning as required and provide flexible support for wall washing during service escalations.
Liaise with location department managers as required (as well as Domestic Manager).
