Document Production Assistant – Edinburgh

Do you have experience in document formatting and production, with a keen eye for detail? An established law firm in Edinburgh is seeking a Document Production Assistant to join their busy support team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise to play a key role in delivering accurate, high-quality documents in a professional services environment.

The Role
  • Produce, edit and format a wide variety of legal and business documents using Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PDF software.
  • Ensure documents are accurate, consistent, and aligned with house style and templates.
  • Manage amendments, track changes and reformatting, including complex tasks such as tables of contents, cross-referencing and styles.
  • Liaise with colleagues and fee earners to clarify instructions and meet deadlines.
  • Transcribe digital dictation and support with specialist document requests.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating templates, precedents and house style guidance.
  • Support project work, IT training queries and smarter working initiatives within the team.
About You
  • Previous experience in a document production or word processing role (ideally within professional services).
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including formatting, templates and document automation features.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and PDF tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
