Disrepair Surveyor — Barking & Dagenham
£53,000 - £70,000 per annum
Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed property surveys, inspections, and reporting on disrepair cases.
- Produce professional survey reports in line with Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act.
- Define clear scopes of work, specifications, and oversee contractor performance.
- Undertake pre- and post-inspections to ensure works are completed on time, to specification, and to a high standard.
- Provide photographic evidence and expert witness input where required.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, health & safety, and statutory requirements.
- Support cost management, budget monitoring, and value-for-money delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and produce management reports.
About You
- Degree or HNC in Building Surveying, Building Maintenance, or equivalent.
- RICS qualified (MRICS or FRICS) - essential.
- Proven experience in disrepair cases, housing defect diagnosis, and property inspections.
- Background in social housing is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of building legislation, regulations, and compliance.
- Excellent communication and customer care skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and able to produce high-quality reports.
- Full driving licence and own vehicle with business insurance (mileage paid)
