In this role, you’ll play a central part in shaping those experiences—helping us build a workplace that is not only efficient but truly exceptional.

This senior leadership role will oversee the full people lifecycle—from talent acquisition and onboarding to culture-building, employee development, and engagement. You will help us hire thoughtfully, ensure professional growth opportunities are available and understood, and support a positive, cohesive culture across a hybrid team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, including job posting, applicant screening, proactive outreach, and coordination of interviews through BambooHR.
  • Champion a thoughtful, quality-first hiring process that prioritizes cultural fit and long-term potential.
  • Oversee onboarding using BambooHR and other internal systems to ensure a seamless and supportive start for all new hires.
  • Work with hiring managers to scope upcoming roles and build a proactive talent pipeline.
Culture and Employee Engagement
  • Foster a vibrant and inclusive culture aligned with our core values: Profit Minded, Quality Focused, and Value Driven.
  • Design and execute employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
  • Utilize Lattice to conduct employee engagement and pulse surveys; analyze feedback and lead action planning in collaboration with firm leadership.
  • Partner with department managers to ensure consistent and timely performance reviews, compensation reviews, and goal-setting conversations.
  • Develop and maintain career path frameworks so employees clearly understand growth opportunities within the firm.
Learning, Development, and Performance
  • Use Lattice to establish individualized professional development plans tied to career goals and firm needs.
  • Coordinate or facilitate internal training sessions and ensure access to relevant external development opportunities.
  • Provide coaching and support to department managers in delivering effective feedback and driving performance.
Human Resources Operations and Strategic Support
  • Serve as the point person for Human Resources processes, tools, and best practices—overseeing BambooHR and ensuring accurate employee records.
  • Ensure policies are current, relevant, and aligned with legal compliance and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the department managers on workforce planning and people-related aspects of strategic planning.
  • Own and evolve the firm’s employer brand, including positioning McLenehan and Associates CPAs as a great place to work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong background in people operations or Human Resources, ideally with 5+ years of progressive responsibility in a strategic Human Resources or People and Culture role.
  • Experience implementing and managing HRIS and performance management systems like BambooHR and Lattice.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong project management capabilities.
  • Skilled at both big-picture strategy and hands-on execution.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • CPHR designation (or equivalent) preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a small-to-mid-sized, professional services or accounting firm is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated experience shaping culture and driving people strategy in a fast-paced, growing environment.
Position Details
  • Full-time role with a 32-hour, 4-day workweek.
  • Hybrid or fully remote, with occasional on-site collaboration as needed.
