Fletchers Solicitors is seeking an exceptional Director of Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the Group's largest and fastest‑growing business. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer, this senior leadership role will lead the FP&A function, delivering strategic insight, performance excellence, and financial discipline across the organisation. You will be at the heart of growth planning, acquisition integration, and exit readiness, embedding best‑in‑class forecasting, budgeting, and analytical capabilities. As one of two senior roles identified as potential successors to the Group CFO, this is a rare opportunity for an ambitious finance leader to operate at board level and help drive the long‑term success of a highly respected, values‑driven legal business.

Main Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Lead the FP&A function, providing clear commercial insight to support growth, acquisition integration and exit readiness.
  • Partner with the Group CFO and Executive Committee to shape financial strategy, performance targets and long‑term planning.
  • Deliver high‑quality analysis, scenario modelling and insight on revenue, WIP, profitability and cash.
Business Performance & Insight
  • Own the Group's budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes, ensuring accuracy, challenge and strategic alignment.
  • Provide timely, insightful reporting to senior stakeholders, enabling effective decision‑making.
  • Identify risks and opportunities through deep analysis of financial and operational performance.
Growth & Transformation
  • Support the integration of acquisitions into business‑as‑usual FP&A and reporting frameworks.
  • Continuously improve FP&A processes, systems and data quality, driving automation and best practice.
People & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Lead, develop and inspire a high‑performing FP&A and Business Partnering team.
  • Act as a trusted senior leader within Finance and a key deputy to the Group CFO.
  • Support board, investor and lender communications as required.
Governance & Control
  • Champion strong financial governance, controls and compliance, including adherence to Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven senior FP&A leadership experience within a complex, fast‑growing organisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insight.
  • Extensive experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling at group level.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting growth initiatives, acquisitions and integration activity.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience working at Executive and Board level.
  • A track record of building, leading and developing high‑performing finance teams.
  • Strong systems and data capability, with experience improving FP&A processes and automation.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience within professional services or regulated environments (desirable).
