The Director, Executive Recruiter, is a member of the Strategic Recruiting Team, a part of Ryan’s Corporate Development group. We are talent scouts searching for key talent primarily at the Director or Principal level and supports executive recruitment for Ryan with a focus on Europe and Asia Pacific. The Director reports to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Recruiting located in Dallas, Texas, and work closely with the President of Ryan Europe and Asia Pacific Operations. The role is based in London.

We will consider individuals at the Manager and Senior Manager level who may be ready for a promotion or those interested in a lateral move. As this is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, we are seeking individuals who are hands‑on with experience in working a full recruiting desk – end to end – sourcing through on‑boarding with executive candidates. Experience hiring Tax professionals in an accounting or professional services environment and/or search firm experience is highly desired.

The Director collaborates with all Ryan senior leadership and team members of the Strategic Recruiting Team to develop a search strategy and administer the executive recruiting process which could slightly change depending on the search and tax practice. Leadership at Ryan includes C‑Suite leaders, Global Shared Services leaders, Global Clients and Markets (Sales), and Service Delivery, Principals, and Practice Leaders (“Leadership”).

This role is both a strategic and tactical requiring the ability to shift thinking patterns and solutions. The Director teams up with the hiring manager to determine and manage hiring demand to execute the recruiting and sourcing strategy (and plan) agreed upon and delivering results. The role will work on multiple projects (searches and initiatives) concurrently. To be successful, the Director executes with a sense of urgency, responding promptly to candidates and internal stakeholders (in different time zones) in time‑sensitive situations. Being flexible to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends (as needed and happens regularly) is key.

The Director will work across the firm working closely with Ryan People Group and other Ryan Departments involved in on‑boarding and training. Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results
People:
  • Accountable for managing executive, executive candidate relationships for full life‑cycle recruitment
  • Develop and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with Leadership and key stakeholders (to drive effective hiring strategies), and potential executive level talent (to become viable and interested candidates)
  • Provide advisory consult to Leadership on search matters when needed.
Client:
  • Develop a deep understanding of Ryan and assigned practice areas, the Firm’s business model, culture, services, and industry to assess applicant fit and skills in order to successfully attract qualified candidates and effectively describe unique aspects of Ryan’s business model, compensation, and benefits structure to candidates
Value:
  • Develop targeted recruiting using methods, such as, active networking, referrals, and direct sourcing techniques, to increase brand awareness and identify talented, diverse executive candidates who are both passive and active job seekers
  • Utilize consulting skills and business acumen to influence decisions of Leadership, hiring managers, and candidates and develops individualized sourcing strategies for client groups within the Firm.
  • Utilize strong sales skills to effectively negotiate offers and sell upside potential of the Firm’s unique compensation model
  • Stays abreast of industry activities and our key competitors for talent. Proactively seeks out benchmarking data through networking and formal sources to maintain awareness of our position in the market.
  • Effectively use the applicant tracking system (Workday), to maintain accurate records of recruiting activities, provide timely, accurate reporting and track other relevant data (like pipeline and talent pools)
  • Adhere to legal, regulatory, and Firm compliance requirements throughout the executive recruiting process
  • Special projects as assigned
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or four‑year college degree, or equivalent work experience in Recruiting, and 15+ years of experience leveraging direct sourcing, networking, and online sourcing techniques for recruiting executives in the Accounting, Tax, or Finance field.

Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to drive and achieve results, possess strong business acumen with a willingness to perform any tasks to be successful, and have above average communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in public accounting, search (retained or contingency), or corporation recruiting C‑Level and Partner level roles is preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.

This position requires experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, CRM systems, and other sourcing platforms. Ryan uses Workday and Salesforce.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This individual contributor role has very limited supervisory responsibilities but at times could include assigning tasks, oversight in scheduling interviews and reviewing work for accuracy and completeness.

  • Standard indoor working environment.
  • Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
  • Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm and interface with external vendors and candidates at all levels.
  • Potential and Limited Travel of up to 20%.
