Overview
Director, Digital Engineering - Defence Sector. The role focuses on delivering digital transformation for leading Defence sector clients in the region, shaping and planning delivery elements of their journey and establishing digitally-enabled, smart and sustainable utilities. The candidate will guide crucial digital engineering decisions, help establish the business case, and document the overall roadmap for change.
Responsibilities
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with Defence sector clients; identify, shape and plan delivery elements of their digital transformation journey.
- Define the why, what, and how to transition to a digitally-enabled, smart and sustainable utility organization; help establish the business case and document the roadmap for change.
- Guide decisions on technologies, platforms, engineering practices and the service model for the digital engineering function; drive business-led digital transformation for clients.
- Provide advice on designing and establishing a state-of-the-art digital engineering function; integrate digital engineering into organisations with traditional IT functions.
- Collaborate with EY groups across digital design, development and engineering to pursue and deliver end-to-end digital engagements; involve in sales/sales support, practice development and engagement delivery.
- Be a thought leader on current digital technology trends and emerging design/engineering patterns; represent the firm at conferences/forums on advanced technology issues and trends.
- Build a profitable practice and establish the firm’s national image in high-end Technology Transformation Consulting; contribute to growth and profitability through business development opportunities.
- Demonstrate people development and management for the practice; build long-term relationships with key client decision-makers as a trusted advisor.
- Lead and direct multiple engagements profitably; identify when projects are inefficient and take steps to prevent recurrence.
- Anticipate issues and opportunities during significant changes; enlist requisite expertise as needed.
- Contribute to implementing and enhancing firm policies and procedures for knowledge management and intellectual capital management.
- Sales involvement: support ongoing engagements, pursue upsell opportunities, and engage in fresh pursuits; lead pursuit teams and present solutions to clients.
- Engagement delivery: take a leading role on engagements, provide thought leadership and subject-matter expertise; manage client relationships and expectations.
- Demonstrate substantial relevant experience, preferably with a Big 4 or top technology consulting organisation; proven track record in delivering large digital and technology transformation engagements.
- Proven experience in digital products and customer platform implementation, including solution architecture, solution engineering, testing and deployment; leadership of a digital engineering practice.
- Strong understanding of how to design and build a leading digital engineering capability; experience managing large teams with solid client relationship and account management skills.
- Experience communicating with CXO-level executives across client enterprises; excellent technical skills with ability to originate deals and anticipate future client needs.
- Ability to influence, persuade, and establish credibility; build ongoing client relationships; network effectively within EY to drive account and industry segment agendas in a matrix environment.
- Experience in building, leading and coaching teams to achieve business objectives; strategic leadership with good decision-making, planning and organisational skills.
- Experience working with Directors/Partners to align customer business strategies with the company’s strategy; results-oriented and performance-driven mindset.
