Position Overview

As the Director, International Commercial Planning & Initiatives, you will lead the development and execution of strategic plans across diverse geographies, ensuring alignment, scalability, and driving commercial success.

This high-impact role involves overseeing the planning and implementation of key initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and managing cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Furthermore, it is essential that this role utilizes market insights, optimizes resource allocation, and maintains compliance with industry regulations. Effective project management, communication, and leadership skills are essential to foster collaboration and drive innovation within the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Drive Integrated Commercial Planning — Partner with the International Head of Commercial Planning and key functional stakeholders (upstream and downstream) to design and implement regional Integrated Commercial Plans that reflect strategic priorities and market realities
  • Build and deploy planning frameworks that support prioritization, alignment, and agility in dynamic, multi-market environments
  • Ensure Integrated Commercial Plans are actionable, measurable, and fully aligned with broader commercial and franchise goals
  • Identify and Prioritize Regional Strategic Programs — Collaborate with regional and global leadership to collect and prioritize a pipeline of strategic commercial initiatives to be implemented in local markets
  • Align functional stakeholders on key initiatives that support business objectives and enable regional growth
  • Deploy team resources strategically to match initiative complexity and business impact
  • Coach and Empower High-Performing Teams — Manage, coach, and mentor direct reports, setting clear objectives and supporting professional growth
  • Allocate team capacity to balance workload, ensure optimal utilization, and match skills to initiative needs
  • Champion a collaborative environment that empowers the team to innovate, share learnings, and continuously improve delivery excellence
  • Lead Cross-Functional Program Execution — Assign and manage program resources to execute prioritized commercial initiatives efficiently and effectively
  • Monitor program progress, proactively identify risks and opportunities, and ensure successful delivery against timelines and performance targets
  • Foster a culture of knowledge-sharing, adoption of best practices and scalable processes across international teams
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial strategy, planning, or operations within a global or regional context
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex program portfolios in life sciences, med tech, or a related industry preferred

  • Strategic vision to drive complex, multi-market projects from planning through execution, applying structured project management approaches to prioritize efforts, manage risks, and deliver initiatives on time and within scope
  • Strong project and program management skills, particularly in leading multiple concurrent initiatives and ensuring successful execution across diverse markets
  • Deep commercial acumen, to guide strategic planning, assess trade-offs, and direct investment toward high-impact initiative
  • Highly skilled in aligning individual and organizational goals, providing thoughtful performance management, investing in talent development, and inspiring a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
  • Adept at allocating team resources to high-impact programs, balancing capacity, budget, and timing to maximize organizational output
  • Ability to articulate clear, compelling messages that unite cross-functional teams, secure senior-leader buy-in, and foster accountability
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work and communicate effectively with stakeholders across sales, marketing, medical affairs, finance, and global planning teams
  • Strong command of regulatory frameworks, reimbursement systems, and healthcare delivery models
Physical Requirements

Location: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements and requires on-site work from Insulet's London office at least three (3) days per week.
