A global industrial technology leader is offering a Digital Energy Technical Apprentice role in Manchester. The position focuses on energy management for Smart Buildings, emphasizing practical training in digital solutions and customer engagement. Role Title: Digital Energy Technical Apprentice (Smart Buildings)
Location: Manchester
Apprentice Level: UK Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship Programme
Salary: £21,000
As a Digital Energy Technical Apprentice, you will work in the field of energy management and controls for Smart Buildings and Smart Electrical Infrastructure. You will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative technologies to optimise energy usage and drive sustainability. You will be part of a dynamic team, collaborating with experts in various disciplines to deliver impactful solutions for our customers.
During your apprenticeship you will receive two types of training.
‘On‑the‑job’ training will be delivered by Schneider Electric, as your employer. You’ll receive training and supervision to help you perform the job you’ve been hired for. This will include skills and knowledge that fall outside the apprenticeship but are needed for the role. In addition to on‑the‑job training we will support you in multiple ways to ensure your success.
Types of support will include:
‘Off‑the‑job’ training is delivered by a carefully selected training provider during your normal working hours. You will spend at least 20% (average 6 hours per week) of your working hours completing off‑the‑job training. This protected time is a requirement for apprenticeship delivery and will teach you the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standard.
37.5 hours per week to be worked from Monday to Friday. Exact start and finish times are to be agreed with the line manager. Some of these hours will be allocated to off‑the‑job training as part of the apprenticeship programme.
5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths and at least one other STEM subject.
No pre‑requisite experience required but a demonstrable interest in engineering through school or hobby interests.
Please note that a full UK Driving Licence is essential for this position, though we will accept applications from those who are in the process of obtaining one (currently completing driving lessons). If the role requires travelling and a vehicle, it will be provided by Schneider Electric.
