Overview

Digital Content Specialist (SEO) – Belfast - Hybrid – £35k+

MCS Group is delighted to be working with a global professional services organisation to recruit a Digital Content Specialist (SEO) to join the growing team, and take ownership of the SEO, digital, and content design initiatives that will improve digital content and campaigns and boost quality traffic to the website.

The successful individual will conduct in-depth keyword research and make on-page optimisations to improve search engine rankings. Alongside the Digital Manager, you will ensure the internal reporting dashboards are optimised to reflect relevant website and content performance data in line with SEO and GEO strategies. Similarly, collaborating with the Digital Manager to identify general technical and off-page SEO improvements for the site such as site speed, structured data, sitemap indexing, link building and more.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct keyword research and optimise data, on-page elements, and internal linking for SEO and GEO.
• Monitor site performance and keyword rankings using tools like Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Siteimprove.
• Identify and address technical SEO, accessibility, and performance issues.
• Support and contribute to SEO and GEO strategy, staying up to date with emerging trends and best practices.
• Collaborate with content, campaign, and digital teams to optimise content, refine copy, and recommend layouts, templates, and formats.
• Analyse content performance dashboards to identify improvements or retire outdated content.
• Maintain digital optimisation guidelines, share best practices, and deliver training across the business.
• Upload, edit, and test content and new features within the CMS.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in SEO and digital content optimisation.
• Interest in generative AI platforms and conversational search/AI prompts.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with SEO, analytics, and digital tools (GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, SiteImprove).
• Understanding of structured data, schema markup, and entity-based SEO.
• Familiarity with user-centred design processes and web accessibility matters a plus.
• Excellent written skills, with a keen eye for detail and perfect grammar.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Is a self-starter, uses initiative and has a desire to take ownership of projects.
