Overview

At Habitat ReStore, individuals will gain work experience within a retail environment. Individuals will gain experience in various retail operations. Tasks include customer service, assisting with collections, sorting and displaying of donations. There is a role for everyone.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Donations Collection Team with the collection of donations in the Habitat van.
  • Sort donated goods, this could include the pricing and barcoding of stock.
  • Ensure a high standard of presentation, display and merchandising of stock on the shop floor.
  • Provide excellent customer service, handling customer queries in person and on the phone.
  • Operating the electronic Till system, including the booking of donation collections and processing payments.
  • Assist with keeping the store clean and tidy and that health & safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Attend appropriate training as required.

Further Information

This work experience opportunity is expected to last for 8 weeks and will require attendance of 25 - 30 hours per week. While on Work Experience, participants will retain their entitlement to benefit. Travel and childcare costs may be reimbursed. Participants will also receive an incentive payment equivalent to £10 per day/max £50/week. Contact your local Jobs and Benefits office for further information.
