Overview

DT Teacher (Textiles Specialism) - Full-Time - Long-Term Role

Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire

Salary: MPS/UPS (Depending on experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (with potential for permanent placement)

About the Role

You will be teaching Design & Technology with a focus on Textiles across Key Stages 3 and 4. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, strong subject knowledge, and the ability to engage learners of all abilities. There is also the opportunity to contribute to curriculum development within a well-equipped and supportive department.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and practical DT lessons with a focus on Textiles
  • Support students in developing design, sewing, and technical skills
  • Plan and assess in line with national curriculum standards
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student progress and innovation
Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Specialism in Textiles within the Design & Technology curriculum
  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 DT (KS5 is desirable but not essential)
  • A creative and student-centered approach to teaching
  • Strong classroom management and a collaborative attitude
