A local educational institution in Shrewsbury is seeking a Design and Technology Technician to support the department in various tasks, from preparing materials to assisting in lessons. Initially part-time, the position will become full-time in January 2026. Suitable candidates will have a flexible approach and the ability to work as part of a team. The salary ranges from £8,615 to £22,366, depending on experience.

The Design and Technology Technician has an essential role in the successful working of the Design and Technology Department, working as part of a team, under the direction of the Head of Department. The technician is responsible for all of those ancillary services which supplement the actual teaching of Design and Technology.
A flexible approach to prioritising work as needs arise is essential. Some aspects of the work are more creative, while others are more basic and all are vital to the good running of the Curriculum Area.

The post is initially part time, 2 days a week, Monday and Tuesday, starting Monday 3rd November 2025, increasing to full-time, Monday – Friday from the 5th January 2026, term-time only.
Actual salary: Part-time £8,615 - £8,946 pa dependent on experience.
Full-time £21,539 - £22,366 pa dependent on experience.
