Design Technology Teacher – Resistant Materials. We are working with a thriving secondary school in Solihull seeking a passionate and skilled Design Technology Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term position specialising in Resistant Materials, with the opportunity to inspire creativity and innovation in students across KS3 and KS4.

The Role

You will take on full teaching responsibilities within the Design Technology department, delivering lessons in Resistant Materials that challenge, engage, and motivate learners. From introducing practical skills at KS3 to guiding students through GCSE projects, you will encourage independent thinking, problem-solving, and high standards of craftsmanship. In addition, you’ll play an active role in curriculum planning, marking, and contributing to the school’s wider community.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a strong background in teaching Design Technology with a specialism in Resistant Materials. Both experienced teachers and ECTs are encouraged to apply, as the school offers strong mentoring and professional development opportunities. A creative approach to teaching, good classroom management, and the ability to inspire pupils with hands-on learning will be essential for success.
