Job description
Overview

Ipswich High School, Woolverstone, Ipswich, Suffolk IP9 1AZ. Salary: Competitive. Hours: 30 hours per week, 34 weeks per year (term time plus 4 inset days). Contract: Permanent. Required as soon as possible. Reference: 0402.

Role

We are seeking to appoint a part time Design Technician to work across our Design and Technology department. The successful applicant will have excellent making skills, the ability to use a range of materials and preferably be from a creative background. Experience of a school environment is desirable but not essential. We offer a generous staff benefits package.

Responsibilities
  • Use digital systems proficiently from Word, OneNote and Excel, to learning ordering systems and CAD software once on the job.
  • Complete all physical requirements of the job and be confident on machinery for preparing materials.
  • Be happy to work with students in the classroom environment.
Requirements
  • Excellent making skills and ability to work with a range of materials.
  • Creative background preferred; experience in a school environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to use Word, OneNote and Excel; willingness to learn CAD software and other systems on the job.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
