Job description

Overview

Our client, a leading manufacturing client based north of York, are looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be required to manage design projects from concept / enquiry through to hand over the manufacturing with support from the wider engineering team.

Candidates will ideally be degree qualified in an Engineering discipline with knowledge of Mechanical / Electrical Systems including but not limited to AC/DC systems, Hydraulics, Electrical Control Systems.

You will also have excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written) as you will be dealing with all stakeholders in the business and also end user clients to interpret specifications and understand requirements.

Hours: Mon - Thurs; Friday 08:30 - 16:00

Key Responsibilities

• Manage design projects from initial concept/enquiry through detailed design to manufacturing handover.
• Produce engineering designs, specifications and documentation to ISO 9001.
• Preparation of operating and maintenance manuals.
• Assist in the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals.
• Offsite engineering support for new products.
• Assist sales and marketing in the preparation of quotes and proposals.
• Provide customer support.
• Assist in the training of customer operating personnel.
• Provide technical support to the production, logistics and integration departments.
• Work within the requirements of company procedures and national/international regulations.
• Work within the timescales and budgets set by the company.
• Instruct, train and mentor subordinate engineering staff.
• Other activities as directed by the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications / Skills

• Candidates will ideally be degree qualified in engineering discipline however HNC/HND with relevant experience will be considered.
• Demonstrable experience working within a Project Engineering role involved in managing design projects from concept to manufacturing hand over.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong Written Communication and ability to compile technical manuals.
