Design Engineer - Civils (Below Ground Drainage)

Our client, a well-established civil & infrastructure engineering consultancy, is looking to appoint a Design Engineer with strong below-ground drainage experience to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is technically solid, solutions-focused, and looking to progress within a supportive engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed designs for below-ground drainage systems
  • Prepare drainage strategies, technical notes, and supporting documents for planning submissions
  • Use design tools such as MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD to produce models, calculations, and drawings
  • Ensure compliance with local authority approval processes, Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations, etc
  • Coordinate with internal teams—structures, transport, environmental—as well as external consultants and contractors
  • Assist with site assessments, feasibility work, and technical problem-solving
  • Contribute to project delivery, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations are met
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Experience in drainage/infrastructure design within a consultancy environment
