About the Role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our rapidly growing design team. Working primarily within the aerospace sector, you\'ll be involved in the design of tooling and jigs, contributing to innovative projects that require technical expertise, problem-solving, and collaboration.

This is a varied role where you will contribute to technical studies, propose design solutions, and ensure deliverables meet quality, cost, and deadline objectives. You will work closely with project managers, customers, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the production of technical studies within your field of expertise, in collaboration with your team.
  • Provide expert appraisal and technical input during pre-project studies.
  • Interpret customer specifications and requirements into effective design solutions.
  • Propose technical solutions, including cost and time estimates where required.
  • Ensure deliverables meet agreed quality, cost, and schedule targets.
  • Supervise and review technical deliverables in liaison with the Project Manager.
  • Validate studies, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate findings, arguments, and conclusions effectively to customers and internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and resources, subject to managerial approval.
About You
  • Background or education in design engineering.
  • Experience with tooling and jig design highly desirable however this role offers training opportunities and would be suitable for someone starting their career in engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging with customers and project managers.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to suggest improvements and add value.
