Job description

We are currently recruiting a Design Associate to join our team. This role would be ideal for a designer looking to transition from a sales-focused position into a more technical role, or for a junior designer eager to deepen their understanding of the technical aspects of kitchen design. The successful candidate can be based at any one of our London showrooms.

About us

Harvey Jones have hand built more than 15,000 bespoke kitchens and know exactly what it takes to deliver furniture that our clients are proud to use and have in their homes. They are high quality using traditional construction techniques, and each design can be customised and personalised to our clients’ exact needs and tastes. We are a growing company with showrooms across the UK. Our award-winning ranges and projects are regularly featured across magazines, newspapers, and design websites.

Role Overview

Design Associate (Technical & Administrative Support)

A key supporting position that ensures the technical, systems, and administrative aspects of kitchen design run smoothly. You’ll need strong organisational skills, the ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload, and great attention to detail.

As a Design Associate, you’ll provide essential support to our showroom operations by ensuring that final design details are ready for production. This allows our Kitchen Designers to focus on client-facing sales and design, while you handle the preparation of production, procurement, and installation specifications. Your role will involve technical checks, system support, and coordination with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical & Administrative Support: Maintain showroom organisation, manage diaries, and schedule meetings/site visits.
  • Project Coordination: Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep projects on track.
  • Order & Cost Management: Track orders, chase payments, update costing sheets, and ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Specification & Systems Support: Assist with ArtiCAD and EQ systems, verify specifications and measurements, and prepare order packs.
  • Client Information & Costing: Prepare client information packs and detailed costings for proposed designs to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Quality & Process Control: Coordinate remedial work, support KPI tracking, and contribute to regional reporting.
  • Client Support (Non-Sales): Provide product demonstrations and assist with showroom presentation.

This is a detail-driven, process-focused role that requires strong organisational abilities and an eye for accuracy. If you thrive in a structured, fast-paced environment and enjoy ensuring everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes, we’d love to hear from you!
