Supply Secondary Design and Technology Teacher – Brighton Area

Are you a passionate and qualified Design and Technology Teacher looking for flexible, rewarding work? Do you have the creativity and enthusiasm to inspire students through hands‑on learning and innovation? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a dedicated Secondary D&T Teacher to work on a supply basis in a vibrant and inclusive school in the Brighton area.

About the Role

We are partnering with a forward‑thinking secondary school that values creativity, practical learning, and technical skills. As a supply Design and Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the class teacher. Whether it’s product design, resistant materials, textiles, or food technology, you will help students develop valuable skills and a passion for design and innovation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a D&T specialist who enjoys the variety and flexibility of supply teaching while maintaining the professionalism and passion of a subject expert.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Design and Technology to students across KS3 and KS4, following pre‑planned lessons or adapting your own where appropriate
  • Deliver lessons that incorporate practical, theoretical, and creative elements of the D&T curriculum
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are followed in the workshop or classroom
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Encourage student engagement in problem‑solving, designing, and making
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and contribute positively to the school community
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Design and Technology
  • Experience teaching secondary‑aged students (KS3 and/or KS4)
  • Confidence in delivering a range of D&T topics, such as product design, engineering, textiles, or food technology
  • Strong classroom and workshop management skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
