Overview

Design & Technology Teacher - Hillingdon, London

A specialist secondary school and sixth form located near Hillingdon is seeking a skilled and motivated Design & Technology Teacher to join their dynamic team on a permanent contract. The position is full time, though the school will consider part time applicants depending on experience and availability. Working hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm. The role will be paid in line with the Outer London MPS/UPS scale. Onsite parking is available.

Role Overview - DT Teacher
  • Deliver engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across KS4 and KS5, focusing on innovation, design thinking, and industry-relevant skills.
  • Support students in developing a strong understanding of design principles, engineering processes, and manufacturing techniques through hands-on learning.
  • Inspire creativity, technical precision, and problem-solving by integrating real-world contexts into classroom projects and coursework.
  • Encourage high levels of student achievement by maintaining a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with other subject specialists and industry partners to enhance the curriculum and ensure learning outcomes are aligned with current technical standards and workplace expectations.

Qualifications and Person Specification

  • Experience with workshop tools, health & safety protocols, and CAD/CAM technologies is highly desirable
