A prominent mental health service provider is looking for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager to join their Adult Forensic Service in Bury, England. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient-centered care within a secure setting. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Ward Manager, lead shifts, and support the development of nursing staff. Adult Forensic Service provides mental health support for adults of working age within a secure forensic setting.
This vacancy is for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager. The post places emphasis on patient centered care and therapeutic engagement, ensuring all aspects of direct patient care are delivered at the highest quality. The post holder will work in collaboration with the Ward Manager to develop and transform the nursing care provision to reflect service user mental health and physical needs, be culturally appropriate, and compliant with professional guidance.
The post holder will take charge of shifts on a rotational basis, act as a primary nurse to service users and their carers, and establish and maintain effective communication with all relevant internal and external personnel involved in care.
The post holder will, in collaboration with the Ward Manager, support continuous clinical and professional development for ward staff through on the job coaching, mentoring, audit, regular supervision, and ward based training of less experienced staff.
The post holder will deputise for the Ward Manager as required, promote multi-disciplinary team working, and lead predominantly on nursing issues and leadership.
