Job summary

A leading educational institution is seeking a Deputy Health, Safety, and Compliance Manager to support the Health, Safety, and Compliance Manager. You will coordinate health and safety strategies and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines. This role involves providing operational input to enhance health and safety within the university community and requires flexibility to work on Campus frequently.

Job description

This position supports the Health, Safety, and Compliance Manager and involves leading and taking responsibility for planning and delivering a health and safety service at the university. As the Deputy Health, Safety, and Compliance Manager, you will coordinate and implement health and safety strategies, standards, policies, and procedures for staff, students, and visitors.

You will also establish and implement a Health and Safety Management System to ensure compliance with legislation and governance requirements. This system will provide strategic direction for continuous improvement at the university.

Additionally, you will provide operational input on the health and safety agenda to employees, students and visitors, ensuring that relevant actions are in place and reviewed for continuous improvement. You will ensure that the University complies with health and safety requirements in legislation, processes, codes of practice, and other guidance.

The role requires flexibility to work across faculties and sites as directed and requires being on Campus a minimum of three days a week.
