Overview

Working as part of a highly committed team at Hallmark, the Deputy Care Home Manager is a key role within our homes and provides vital support for our General Managers. You will put the residents’ care and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do, creating an independent, dignified, person‑centred environment that supports residents and families through everyday contact, chats and phone calls.

Responsibilities
  • Support the wider team to ensure alignment with Hallmark’s charter, vision and values.
  • Lead care delivery in the home, ensuring continuous assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents’ care.
  • Ensure the clinical and care team adheres to the requirements of their codes of conduct.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, residents and families.
  • Maintain an adaptable and flexible approach to the role and the care home environment.
  • Motivate, engage and exercise leadership across the team using an open and relaxed communication style.
  • Achieve a high standard of clinical care by auditing, analysing trends and directing the care team to deliver great results.
  • Communicate with CQC, Social Services and Safeguarding teams, implementing action plans for improvement and building a reputation for high‑quality care delivery.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse or RMN with an active NMC PIN and strong clinical skills.
  • Proven experience of post‑qualification practice in a health and social care setting with older people.
  • Previous experience of leading a team (ideally 2 years).
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT skills and confidence in computer‑based work.
