Salary: £28,500 - £34,000 (depending on experience and qualifications) PLUS sleep in allowance (at least £2,730 per annum)

Shifts: 3pm – 11pm, 10am – 11pm, 10am – 6pm + sleep ins (approx. 1 per week). 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for a proactive and dedicated Deputy Home Manager to maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for the young people in our 4-bed home in Bracknell. As a Deputy Home Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day‑to‑day running of children’s home, playing a key role in ensuring all young people are provided with excellent standards of individualised care. You will work with openness and compassion and be a positive role‑model to our young people and staff team.

Responsibilities

As Deputy Home Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all residents, supporting the Registered Manager with day‑to‑day operations, ensuring the provision of high‑quality, trauma‑informed care, meeting safeguarding requirements, and acting as a positive role‑model for staff and residents.

Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent e.g. Social Work Degree)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or a commitment to achieve this qualification
  • Previous experience working with children and young people in residential settings
  • Experience in a senior role/deputy position with managerial responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma‑informed care
  • Enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references (SWAAY is committed to safeguarding children)
