Alongside the Head Teacher, you'll set the vision for the future of the school, ensuring we have the right people and plans in place to see that our young people leave feeling proud of what they've achieved. You will need to be resilient and dedicated, and those small victories you achieve will be something you're really proud of. Our young people come from diverse backgrounds and have different needs - and our workforce reflects that diversity, so that our teams can engage, encourage and inspire our pupils to be themselves.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

You will be more than a Deputy Head Teacher; you will connect with our pupils because of the following:

  • Have previous teaching experience and Qualified Teacher Status
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of leadership and management experience
  • A drive to raise the quality of teaching and learning
  • Understanding of what good behaviours for learning look like
  • Effective leadership and coaching skills
  • Knowledge of how best to use interpersonal skills to develop a strong staff team
  • Experience in Special Education, SEMH, SEN, ASD, careers in care or special education, and working with children

In addition, the role involves setting the vision, supporting the Head Teacher, developing staff teams, and ensuring high-quality learning experiences for pupils with special educational needs.
