An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Head of Services - Scotland & Northern Ireland with Combat Stress, the leading veterans mental health charity in the UK.

This role spans strategic and operational practice, ensuring high‑quality services that collaborate with partners and meet veterans’ needs. It involves operational delivery, service improvement, performance management, and quality assurance, working closely with veterans and colleagues.

Applicants should hold a current healthcare professional registration, have in‑depth knowledge of mental health care and the national health and social care context, and possess significant management experience, staff engagement, performance management, and budgetary control. The role is subject to a DBS/PVG check.

About Combat Stress

Combat Stress is the UK’s leading mental health charity for veterans, providing specialist treatment and support for veterans from all services and conflicts. Services include community, outpatient, residential, in‑person, phone, and online support for complex mental health problems.

Role Details

  • Location: Glasgow Hub (Hybrid)
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Salary: Band 7 (£47,320 - £54,150) plus Scotland Location Allowance
  • Hours: Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week (Mon‑Fri, 08:30‑16:00)
