A leading acute trust in Yorkshire is seeking a professional clinical leader to oversee quality, patient safety, and governance within the Division of Surgery. The successful candidate will inspire and empower the nursing workforce while ensuring evidence-based practices across multiple specialties and hospital sites. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate, highly motivated, ambitious, and inspirational professional clinical leader to lead the quality, patient safety, clinical effectiveness, patient experience and wider clinical governance agenda across the Division of Surgery at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals. The post holder will work with the Matrons to create an environment where the patient is central to all decision making and the delivery of high quality compassionate care is everybody's prime objective. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the Surgical (General surgery, Head and Neck, Urology, Breast and Vascular), Endoscopy, Orthopaedic and MEOC departments across the DBTH footprint are delivered to the highest standard, with evidenced based practice, ensuring we create an environment where patients feel safe, cared for and confident in treatment they receive and strive to be the best provider in our class. Working alongside the Divisional Nurse, Matrons and wider leadership team, we are looking for a person who inspires, motivates and empowers the nursing workforce and provides professional leadership within the Division of Surgery. The role will be responsible for all of the Surgical services covering Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw hospital and Mexborough hospital.
The post holder will lead quality, patient safety, clinical effectiveness, patient experience and governance across the Division of Surgery, across multiple specialties and hospital sites. They will work with divisional leaders to promote a patient-centred approach, ensure safety culture and implement quality improvement initiatives to drive sustainable results. The role includes strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring services are delivered to high standards with evidence-based practice.
