Job description

Depot Maintenance Technician

Location: Wakefield, WF10 4UA

Salary: £35,855 (with on call £38,183) - on call allowance currently worked out as 1 week in every 4 weeks which equates to £2,328 or £194 every 4 weeks plus overtime; any overtime claimed is paid at time and a half. Salary including the on call would be £38,183.

Role: Monday to Friday - Normal Daytime Hours - 40 hours a week

An outstanding opportunity has arisen within a large and dynamic Facilities Management company, which continues to enjoy sustained growth with its impressive multi-site client base, including a National Facilities contract for ASDA. We are recruiting for a Depot Maintenance Electrician who will provide a planned and reactive maintenance service across an ASDA Distribution Centre in Wakefield, WF10 4UA. The maintenance will be performed across electrical and mechanical plant, and general building fabric maintenance throughout the Depot is also required, so please apply only if you are happy to carry out both electrician maintenance and building fabric tasks.

Your technical experience could come from warehousing, distribution, facilities, food production plants, or a factory environment. The plant is heavy industrial and may not suit candidates with an electrical installation background alone.

You should be positive, able to work in a dynamic business environment, and committed to delivering outstanding customer service. You will be a strong communicator at all levels and able to adapt to priority changes.

You will be fully qualified and have completed an electrical or mechanical apprenticeship, and hold City & Guilds 236 Parts 1&2 or City & Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3 or NVQ Level 3 plus 18th edition. A full and valid driving licence and use of your own vehicle are required (pool vehicle will be provided when on call).
