A local dental practice in Newport is seeking a Dental Nurse to provide chairside assistance during procedures and support patient care. The ideal candidate will be GDC registered with excellent communication skills and at least one year of experience in UK dental practice. Job description
Professional Requirements
  • The position is offered to a GDC registered UK trained qualified Dental Nurse with a minimum of one year experience in UK dental practice although consideration will also be given to a newly qualified candidate.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of infection control protocols and CQC requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and patient-centred approach
  • Knowledge of Dental Implants, Orthodontic and Dento-alveolar surgical procedures will be a recommendation but training will be provided in the absence of such knowledge
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide chairside assistance to dentists during a wide range of clinical procedures
  • Manage sterilisation processes and clinical inventory
  • Support patient care and education with an empathetic and compassionate approach
  • Assist with radiographic examination
  • Assist with intraoral 3D photographic scanning
  • Maintain cleanliness of all aspects of the surgery and the decontamination room
  • Maintain accurate patient records using computer systems
  • Willingness to support reception and administrative duties as needed
  • Eagerness to learn and study new techniques
